Smartphones have become an inseparable part of the body of the modern human turning us into the creatures who live in two worlds simultaneously: the physical world of nature and the virtual world of the internet. However, the Internet is not the first and only intangible realm that was constructed by people. From time immemorial artists, priests and politicians have been creating virtual realities that are crucial elements of their games.

I asked my friends to choose their portraits from social networks, project them on their faces — so that photographic facial features got perfectly aligned with their physical ones — and take a selfie. The tension between a two-dimensional digital image
and a three-dimensional physical body resulted
in apearance of an uncanny representation of the contemporary human.
